Celebrating 15 Years of 710: GreenState Features Highly Educated

July 11, 2025
We’re thrilled to share that GreenState just ran a feature story on the birth and evolution of the 710 holiday, celebrating hash oil and dabbing culture, and credited Task (Founder of Highly Educated) and our community for helping bring 710 to life. Only tiny bit of information that is inaccurate is that we are on the 14th year of 710, and the 15th year of HE. The author was likely confused due to the coincidence of HE starting on 7/10 in 2010 before the concept was created.

A Quick Look Back

  • Origins in 2011: In a Tinychat room filled with early dab pioneers, Task Rok first suggested naming the holiday “710” (because “OIL” upside‑down spells 710).

  • Building the Movement: Over the years, we’ve pushed boundaries—pioneering the E-nail, inventing the carb‑cap, and even dropping an album (The Movement) to help spread the word.

  • Community First: While the article highlights individual contributions, it continually reminds us that 710 has always belonged to the community. We couldn’t have done it without your ideas, feedback, and passion.

What the Article Covers

  • Myth‑busting motor‑oil and Grateful Dead legends around 710

  • First‑person accounts from California Slim and the original Waldos (420 founders)

  • How dab technology and culture have grown alongside 710
